Hello mentee!
A big and warm welcome to the K-guild and congratulations on your place at either one of our master programs, bachelor programs!
Here at Lund University, the Faculty of Engineering, and the K-guild, we hope that you will experience the best time of your life, and it all begins with the Introduction period (known as Nollningen or the Novisch period). The title of "Nolla" (Mentee or Novisch, noll is Swedish for zero) is given to those who have not studied at LTH before and refers to the level of experience one has in the LTH culture, namely zero. But fear not. When you arrive at LTH, you will be greeted by the pHøs, your mentors, and other helpful Guild members who will assist and guide you.
Being new to Lund and/or LTH can feel scary and overwhelming, which is exactly why we organize the Introduction period for you and your future friends. Remember that all the mentors you will meet have been mentees and experienced the introduction in your shoes once. At LTH, there is no hazing or anything of that sort. Instead, the focus is on ensuring that you feel comfortable and prepared for what will hopefully be the best years of your life.
The Introduction period is filled with exciting activities such as dinners, company events, pubs, study nights, competitions, and much more. During the first day of the academic reception, you will be contacted by one of your mentors (an older student in the Guild) to receive information about your first period at LTH and the Introduction period. Also, download the app Hitract (by following this guide) and follow @kseknollning on Instagram for updates leading up to, and during, the Introduction period! If you have any questions about starting school, the Introduction period, your first time in Lund, etc., do not hesitate to email introduktion@ksek.se.
The theme for the K-Guilds introduction is An Excited Introduction which in Swedish is ''En Exciterad nollning''! Get ready to step out of the gray and into a colourful world, a place where you and your future friends can find your way to the next level. Here, the air vibrates with energy, and something seems to be about to come to life. During the Introduction you will create new bonds, become part of the energy that sets the future in motion, and together shape something bigger than yourself. Leave the old everyday life behind and prepare for a time filled with adventure, community and colourful events. But above all, prepare to become part of a story you will never forget!

For the Nolla to partake in events both during and after the Introduction, the Nolla must join the Students' Union at the Faculty of Engineering. Learn more and join the Students' Union here.
Joing Studentlund and a nation
To be able to attend student events outside LTH and before being allowed to live in AF's housing, the Nolla must join Studentlund. Read more here.

It is important that everyone who participates in the Introduction feels safe. Have you experienced anything as a Nolla (Mentee) or as a Mentor, or do you have something else concerning the Introduction that you would like to convey? Fill out the Guild's Complaint form below. It will be read by the K-Guild's Safety Committee and it is okay to remain anonymous.
Contact the Equality officers
The equality officers are here for the students' safety and mental health. We have a duty of confidentiality in accordance with the Guild's regulations so if you chose not to be anonymous none other than us two equality officers will see who you are. Anonymous personal matters are often harder to proceed with. Has something happened within the Guild that you feel uncomfortable with? Do you have other opinions on the Guild's work concerning equality? Or do you simply need someone to talk to? We know what supportive resources exist, both within and outside the university. Don't hesitate to contact us!

The Student Safety Representatives take care of the students physical safety and organizational problems. It may concern the Guild's premises or spaces within the university. An unreasonable workload, bad communication from the teachers or flaws in the schedule are other issues the Student Safety Representatives work to fix. The Student Safety Representatives have a duty of confidentiality by law. Do you have opinions about the university premises? Have you been treated unfairly by a teacher? Or do you have other opinions about the Guild's work concerning safety? Don’t hesitate to contact us!
