Accommodation
If there is place in the heart, there is place for the bum (Swedish proverb), but your own accomodation would still be the best option. To find accommodation you should check out these tips. And don't forget insurance!
AF Bostäder (AFB) is the students' own housing agency, and many new students get their first accommodation in Lund from AFB. You should apply to join their waiting list as soon as possible after you get your acceptance letter. As a new student you will recieve higher priority on the waiting list if you come from outside Skåne. AFB offers both appartments, and the most iconic way of student living - corridor rooms with shared cooking facilities. Read more on the AFB website.
The Nations in Lund do not only host parties, pubs and leisure activites. They also offer various forms of student accommodation. Living at a Nation, you also get to spend your days not only with engineering students. The best way of finding accomodation at the Nations is by contacting them directly. Read more here.
Michael Hansens Kollegium (MHK) is located just next to LTH and offers accommodation in corridor rooms. You can apply to join their waiting list any time, and you can also apply for different scholarships to get ahead in line or get lower fees. Read more here.
Many students find their new home from subletting. Check all forums you can think of to find someone subletting what you are looking for. Some good places to start looking are Blocket, BoPoolen and the facebook group Lägenheter i Lund.
LKF is Lund Municipality's housing agency for rental apartments. The waiting time is long, but the fee low, and if you do not get accommodation from LKF during your studies, it might be worth it to have many waiting list points for future accommodation. More information can be found at the LKF website.
Svenska Studenthus offers housing both in the new district of Brunnshøg and at Helgonagården, just next to the Cemistry Centre. More information about the accommodation they offer can be found at the website. On the website you can also apply to join their waiting list.
Lund is a city with lots of shared accommodations. It is, therefore, a good idea to look for shared accommodations when you look for a place to live. If living in shared accommodation is something that the Nolla is interested in, the Facebook group ”Kollektiv i Lund” is a good start.
